I'm passionate about words, sentences, paragraphs. They need to sound well, start well, end well.
That's also the way I work, I'm crazy about communication. I want to communicate with the right person in the right way. Everyone needs to be spoken to in the way that fits best. The message needs to be clear and without noise. The result is a happy informed recipient who didn't notice the effort and felt approached in an unforced way by a commited communicator. I always aim for that happy recipient. 'Almost right' is wrong.
In my 10 years of working in marketing, I grew up. Having a degree in Journalism and with working experience at an editorial staff and in communications, 10 years ago I was a newbie in many fields of marketing. I can now proudly say that I master the organisation of events and tradeshows. I know the drill. When I not only organize the booth, but also work out the concept, the full package, I am at my best.
Also newsletters, social media, B-to-B communication, ... are marketing aspects that complete my mix. Marketing with an important role for communication, that's what best describes what I have been up to the last 10 years.
Organisation and administration are nothing I'm afraid of. Reporting, evaluation ROI, working on promotions, strategies...
I am a problem solver. Dwelling on problems is a waste of time. Someone once told me to think in solutions, not in problems. (thank you, Erik) I took that at heart.
In short: I'm a creative communicator. I recently discovered Improvisation theater and learned how it can be liberating. It is teaching me about not being afraid to fail. Don't improve the armour, but take away the fear (thank you, Pieter). It's offering me a way to explore the boundaries of my creativity and to further expand them.
